Glasgow born Jim Mullen has his own distinctive playing style, similar to Wes Montgomery before him. He played with the Average White Band for several years before joining up with Dick Morrissey in the 1980s, finding considerable critical acclaim as joint leader of the pioneering British jazz funk band Morrissey-Mullen. Jim has won the ‘best guitar’ section in the British Jazz Awards many times, and is without doubt one of the finest jazz guitarists in the world today. Completing the band are Mike Gorman and Tristan Maillot, two of the very best on their respective instruments. Performing a set of standards and originals, you can expect a hard swinging evening of melodic, blues influenced, classic jazz.
